Frankfurt Book Fair — Ideas that move the world
Now in its 70th year, the Frankfurt Book Fair is the world’s largest publishing trade fair with some 7,300 exhibitors from 102 countries due to attend. With several hundred thousand books, maps, manuscripts, audio books and e-books on show, the fair has something on show for all types of book lovers.
From 13–14 October the fair’s doors will open to private visitors. Fairgoers can chose from more than 4,000 events featuring among others, world-renowned authors and demonstrations of new technologies.
The fair is attended by experts from various other branches of the creative industry, such as film and gaming. The Frankfurt book fair is thus considered a unique opportunity for writers, publishers, agencies and booksellers to network.
Around 10,000 journalists and bloggers report on this major event in the German cultural calendar.
An honorary role is awarded to this year’s guest country Georgia, whose extensive cultural and literary scene will enrich the fair.
